Baby Nugget – 23 Weeks!

Quick update today! The weeks seem to be flying by now 🙂

Baby is the size of a grapefruit!  {I have given up on understanding the
fruit comparison at this point…}  At 23 weeks, your baby is getting bigger.
He’s about 10.5 to 11.8 inches long and weighs 12.7 to 20.8 ounces.  Plus,
he’s getting cuter!  Ears start to develop and his face and eyes are forming.
{I think they mean he is developing fat to fill out his skin…}  He’s
more aware, too, and is listening to your voice and your heartbeat, as well as
loud sounds, such as cars honking and dogs barking.  You may also feel your baby
move when he hears something familiar.

How far along? 23 weeks

Total weight gain: -1lb last I checked. Starting to gain a little!

Maternity clothes? Still trying to find the right ones…

Stretch marks?  No new ones.

Sleep:  Can’t get enough.

Best moment this week: I’ve been too tired for anything exciting to happen.

Miss Anything? Sleeping through the night. Not being nonstop exhausted.

Movement:  Yes, and a lot of it. Baby boy is most active around 9-9:30 at night, right about the time I’m winding down and ready to go to sleep!

Food cravings:  Milk. Ice cold milk. Movie theater popcorn.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I’ve thrown up two mornings this week. Not a happy pregnant lady. Go away morning sickness!

Gender prediction: Sweet baby boy!

Labor Signs:  No, thank you.

Symptoms:  Fatigue, bloat/gas, VERY frequent urination. Occasional round ligament pain. Sciatic nerve pain. Heartburn and indigestion. Shortness of breath. Morning sickness.

Belly Button in or out?  In.

Wedding rings on or off?  They fit.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Pretty happy! And tired.

Looking forward to:  Ummm….coffee date with my pal, M 🙂

Next appointment:  September 24th – glucose test. Yuck!

    • I’m a little nervous but mostly just not looking forward to it. Because of my pcos and insulin resistance my doc has decided to keep me on metformin throughout my pregnancy and he’s hoping that will prevent me from developing gestational diabetes too. .. fingers crossed!
