Big. Fat. Negative.

Well, I took the plunge and tested yesterday evening. I stopped by the dollar store and bought 2 cheapy tests for $1 a piece. I couldn’t bring myself to spend the cash on an FRER when I knew I was probably setting myself up for disappointment.

I’m kinda sad, I’ll admit. I was looking forward to giving the news to my husband. To happily answering “Nope!” to our friends and family when they asked if we had to use fertility treatments again. And honestly, I was just excited about the possibility of another baby. I’ve been on the fence for a while, but this just set it in stone. My family is not complete yet. I’m ready to add to it.

I’m back in that place again. I know it could take over my every thought easily if I let it. But I can’t this time. I’m a mother and my son is my world. It will be very different the next time around.

So now I wait. Me and my glass filled boobies ¬†(ha) will wait. For what? I don’t know. Maybe AF is coming. Maybe that’s why my boobies hurt. And let’s be honest, if that were the case that’s still a win for a girl with pcos who never has a cycle.

There’s still that nagging voice in the back of my head saying..what if it’s just early? You don’t even know when your period is due. Maybe that cheap dollar store test couldn’t pick up the hcg. You didn’t use first morning urine, and EVERYONE knows you’re supposed to use first morning urine! And your boobies do hurt… and you felt a little queasy yesterday and seemed a little sensitive to smells when your co worker sprayed that Meadows and rain febreeze. Don’t count your uterus out yet! You do still have one cheap dollar store test left….

Another problem with being an infertile…. you can pretty much talk yourself into having symptoms! I know I’ve done it MANY TIMES before. So I may be doing it now. I’m pretty good at it.

For now, I’m believing the negative test. And for now, I’ll wait. Wait for AF. Wait for my “symptoms” to go away. Wait to take that last dollar store test.

And maybe wait until this summer to start trying to have another baby. ūüėä

So, I might be pregnant? But probably not.

Let me explain.

I know, I know, I drop off the blogging planet with only a check in here and there, only to return with a bombshell like this??! What is wrong with me?!

Let me just start with the obvious question: I don’t actually know if I’m pregnant or not. I haven’t peed on a stick in 3 years. I’m not sure what I’m waiting for. If I suspect, I¬†should just do it, right? But¬†here’s the thing. When you are an infertile, that dreaded stick and it’s looming will they won’t they pink lines can mean utter devastation. I’m having a lot of¬†feeling stirred up that I haven’t felt since probably this time 3 years ago, when I was on my final cycle that would find me pregnant with my precious baby boy. I don’t like these feelings. Anxiety, dread, excitement, hope. I want to go back and live in my happy little bubble with my crazy, energetic toddler, and¬†make my mind again forget about things like hpt’s, opk’s, ttc, ewcm, af, bfp, bfn, tww, clomid, progesterone, hcg, letrozole, follistim, lovenox, etc, etc, etc, etc. I was happy in that bubble. Until this week.

Monday was a weird day. I woke up STARVING. Like, so hungry that I was beginning to feel sick. So I stopped by Starbucks on my way to work and got an iced vanilla chai latte and a slice of banana bread. By the time I got to work I was feeling pretty yucky and could only nibble on the bread. Ok, that doesn’t mean anything. But then, my breasts started to feel very tender. Huh. Strange.

Since having M, I haven’t gone on any kind of birth control. I have a prescription for¬†Provera so that if I go too long without a period, I can take it and make myself have one. I have 4 refills on it, as my doctor wants me to have at last 4 periods a year. I’ve only used it once. Back in February, I was thinking I should get it filled since¬†it had¬†been about 4 or 5 months since my¬†last (provera induced) period. But, much to my surprise, I started my¬†period on my own! That was fine and all.¬†But I didn’t expect it to happen again. But low and behold, March rolled around and I started my period AGAIN, and again, on my own – no meds! Pretty crazy for a gal with PCOS.

Now, I still chalked these up to flukes and didn’t really keep track of them. My March cycle started out light and brown (sorry, TMI) but I didn’t worry because it had been away since I’d had a normal cycle every month, so it would be¬†normal for there to be old blood. I’m not really sure when I started normal flow. And I didn’t expect anything out of it, or to get lucky enough to have a cycle in April as well.

Well, cut back to this week. Yucky feeling, very sore, tender boobies. Literally, it feels like razor blades are shredding my nipples when my tee shirt rubs against them. So my first though is…is this what PMS feels like? Is it time to start my period again? I’m not really sure because I’ve NEVER had a normal cycle…even as a teenager. So it maybe my body just gearing up for AF. Who knows. But I didn’t even keep track of the last two periods, so I’m not sure if I’m a week away from time or two weeks or what! I’m guessing I’m close to time to start if I was a normal woman with 28 day cycles. But I’m not, so again, who knows.

And here’s the thing that¬† gets me. The boobies, man. My nipples have NEVER been this sore unless I was on fertility medication or pregnant. Well, I’m not on any medication, ladies. And I’m not saying that means anything, but….what if it means something?! Between the nipples, and the yucky feeling (that’s not necessarily nausea but still a “blech” feeling) I can’t help but have this thought in the back of mind that….maybe I am?

I mean, it would be amazing if I was. I’ve always dreamed of getting pregnant on my own. Of it being a total surprise and surprising my husband that we did it naturally and he didn’t have to make a “deposit” into a specimen cup this time. We made the decision to not sue birth control, and for two years we haven’t actively tried, but we haven’t kept it from happening either. I mean, the odds are not in my favor to get pregnant that easily, so we have thrown caution to wind, if you will.

I’m not sure we were quite ready to start trying again. We had originally thought we would try when M was 18 months old, but I just wasn’t ready at that time, physically or mentally. The whole thought of trying to conceive again just really exhausts me. So now M is two years old, and we are just now dipping our toes into the water on the idea of trying later this year.

We didn’t want to try this spring, because M was conceived in April and born January 2nd, a week after Christmas, making that time of year extra stressful. We wanted to try to avoid adding another holiday birthday to the mix. So if I WAS, it would be absolutely hilarious since we specifically didn’t want to get pregnant right now.

It would be hilarious, but I would be SO HAPPY! A baby is blessing, especially to a family like ours who has struggled so much. I’ve really missed being pregnant, and while the idea of being pregnant with¬†a toddler to chase around is exhausting, I know momma’s do it all the time. The idea of M being a big brother just almost makes my heart explode, because I know he will be amazing at it. The very notion that we could add a fourth to our family just absolutely overflows my soul with joy!

So here I am, with my sore boobies and my yucky stomach, retreating back to the archives of this blog (to almost this exact date 3 years ago) hoping to find some answers…were my boobies this sore then? Was I nauseous then? Are there other signs that I wrote down?

Honestly, there aren’t any answers there for me. Although it was nice to look back on. The only answer to my question lies on that dreaded stick. The one I have yet to pee on. And I’m not sure what I’m waiting on. I think I’m just scared. I’ve almost convinced myself that the impossible has happened, and if I pee on that stick and only see one line, I know what devastation is to come. Sure, this wouldn’t come after 2 and a half years of ttc, and this wouldn’t come after my first cycle after a miscarriage, but I remember those feelings all too well, and I’m afraid I will never NOT be able to react or feel that way about a BFN.

So here I am, just waiting. For what? I’m not sure. I have no idea when my period would be “due” anyway. So its not like I can wait until I’m late. Hell, I could already be late for all I know, and that doesn’t necessarily mean anything either.

I’m sure I’ll pee on that stick soon. Just to make sure. I’m afraid of the disappointment I’m probably setting myself up for. But at some point I’m going to have to do it.

I’ll keep you guys updated!

Wow. It’s been a while.

Seriously, though. My kiddo is no longer a baby and instead is big, strapping, 30lb 2 year old! How did that happen?? And how did I let almost a year go by without updating this thing? Oh, that’s right…life with a toddler is, well, BUSY.

It’s fun and crazy and out of control most of the time, but busy is definitely the word to describe life. I’m still working part time and staying home with M the rest of the time. He still doesn’t going to daycare, although I am already looking around at preschools, even though it will be at least another year and a half before he attends. He is growing up into a pretty amazing little dude though.

He is incredibly smart and mischievous and stubborn to a fault. He figures things out that I would never even expect him to, he is definitely a thinker. He is behind on his speech, but excels everywhere else. We have a meeting with the speech therapist next Tuesday to evaluate him and determine if¬†he needs to begin speech therapy. He has excellent understanding and communicates in his own way, so I’m hoping he is being stubborn verbalizing and will pick it up pretty quickly. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried, but I’m trying to wait until his appointment to get¬†worked up about anything.

We just got over a cold/flu epidemic at my house and then last week our first ever experience with a toddler with the stomach bug. Boy, was that NOT fun!!!

Any¬†plans for more¬†babies? Maybe. I’m getting the fever. I don’t want another winter baby right around¬†Christmas though, so it will probably be this summer before we would start trying again. I’d also like to lose¬†a little weight before getting pregnant again… I gained all my baby weight back after going back to work and I absolutely¬†hate myself for it!

I’m scared to start trying again. I don’t want to go through the infertility thing again. But its been a year since I had a period on my own, so I know it’ll be back to the old grind of meds and shots and scheduled sex. And heartache and disappointment. So. Much. Fun.¬†I’m also terrified of being pregnant¬†while also having a toddler. And of having a newborn while also having a¬†toddler. Both things were difficult the first time around¬†WITHOUT a toddler lol! But I guess women do it¬†every day. I’m sure I’ll be back here more often if and when we do start TTC again. Although I may move to another¬†blog, I’m not sure. I’d like to start a blog I can share with my friends and family, and there is just too much here that I cannot share with them. Who knows.

Ok,¬†I’m cutting it off¬†here because it naptime and I’m on borrowed time haha! Sorry its¬†been so long. I¬†don’t even know who all would even still be reading this! I’ll leave you with a couple of updated pictures of¬†my big boy. Hopefully I will be back soon ūüėČ

My Little Nugget Is 15 Months Old!

It’s been a while! Little man is growing nonstop and getting into EVERYTHING! I’ve been thinking of getting a quick update in for a while now and I thought today is the day!

Since I last posted we had M’s birthday party and it was a great turnout! Mommy was stressed to the max, but we got through it with lots of friends and family and gifts galore!

M started really walking on Super Bowl Sunday. Before that he would take steps if coaxed, but he was pretty content just crawling. We went to my aunt’s to watch the game and while we were there he just stood up and walked around all night! He’s been walking, running, climbing, you name it, ever since!! He keeps me on my toes!

We are trying to kick the bottle right now. We have bought every sippy cup under the sun but he does not like his milk out of any of them. I’m making head way with a Nuk sippy during the day though, and for now he still gets a regular bottle before bed. He’s been on whole milk since January and loves it…as long as he gets it in a bottle lol. The kid will eat ANYTHING you put in front of him. He loves to eat! Sometimes veggies are a struggle, but for the most part he is a great eater.

We had our 15 month check up with shots last week. He weighed in at 25lbs 6oz and is 32in tall! My baby is growing like crazy! It amazes me to look back on pictures of him from a year ago and see what a little man he is turning into. He’s fitting great into 18 month clothes right now and still in size 4 diapers.

This past month M had a great Easter with family and just a couple weeks ago we took him to the zoo for the first time. He loved the petting zoo! I can’t wait to do more fun stuff like that with him ūüôā

I’ll try to update as much as I can, this kid just keeps me so busy! I do still check in on everyone’s blogs from time to time, I enjoy seeing your updates when you can! ūüėÄ

Baby Nugget – 1 Year

Happy Birthday, Baby Boy!!!

I cannot believe you are 1 YEAR OLD!

We had a busy month! I feel like we’ve been going nonstop! And we still have your birthday party next weekend!

We celebrated your first Christmas this past month, and it was amazing and hectic! I think you had a blast, but only because you had no idea what was going on haha! Everyone loved seeing you and you were the center of attention everywhere we went, which was a LOT of places. We will be rethinking our Christmas plans for next year.

You celebrated your first New Year and you got all dressed up for the occasion:

You also had your first birthday! We aren’t having your party until the 18th, but you got to enjoy your very own cupcake at home, and you went at it face first!

You also had your last photo session in our Grow With Me package. Makes momma sad! You are growing so fast!

What are your stats and what does the doctor say?

We go for your 1 year checkup on Tuesday, but I think you are about 23lbs and 30in tall. I’m excited to talk to Dr. Chris about how/when to wean you off formula and move on to whole milk! Scary but exciting!

What are you eating?

EVERYTHING! Some days you seem like a bottomless pit. Haha. We’re trying to feed you more “real” food, but you occasionally still get a stage 3 baby food. You usually eat what we eat in some form. You LOVE toast! And carrots are a big hit, too! Shredded chicken is a new favorite, and you like to snack on graham crackers. You still get 4 bottles a day of Enfamil Infant.

When do you eat and sleep?

Most of the routine is still the same. Up anytime between 6:30 and 7:30. Breakfast at 7:30. Morning bottle at 9. Nap around 10 or 10:30. Lunch at 11:30 or 12. Bottle at 1:00. Afternoon snack and nap around 2-3. Bottle around 5. Dinner at 6. Bedtime bottle at 8.

What do your routines look like?

Eat, play sleep! No change here.

What size clothing and diapers are you wearing?

12 month clothes and we finally moved up to size 4 diapers. They are a little big in the waist, but we were having some leaks in the 3’s. No more leaks!

What are some things you love?

You love animals, doggies in particular! You call every dog you see “Jenny” because that’s what our dogs name is. It’s adorable! You love to be chased and tickled. You love story time with daddy everynight and you get so excited when he reads you Goldilocks and the Three Bears and makes the bears ROOOAAR! You love your mommy and daddy. We found out at your photo shoot you LOVE balloons!

What are some things you don’t love?

You still don’t like waiting…for anything. You got a new Rock n Roll Elmo doll for Christmas, and you loved it in the box but you are absolutely terrified of it since we took it out of the box. You still don’t like sleeping at night too much lol.

What are some things you can do?

So much! You took your first steps this month all by yourself! And a couple nights ago you took 9 steps in a row! You can wave hello and bye bye (two different kinds of waves haha), you can throw a ball, you can give kisses, clap, point. You can point to mommy’s nose when she asks you where her nose is. You can also FINALLY say momma! Along with daddy, Jenny (the dog) and yes. You are so smart and learning things everyday!

What are we looking forward to?

Oh my gosh. I can’t even imagine what this next year will have in store for us. This last one went by so fast, I still can’t believe I have a one year old. You have turned our world upside down and you’ve challenged me every single day to be a better mom and better me all together. It took so long to get you here, but I know now it’s because I was supposed to wait especially for you. You, my sweet boy, were made just for me. You were supposed to be mine all along. And you were worth every penny spent, every mile driven, every needle stick, every tear shed, every heartbreaking second spent waiting on that second line.

So I guess we are just looking forward to sitting back and watching you grow and seeing what places you take us next.

Happy birthday my precious boy. I wish for you to always know how much you are loved.

PicMonkey Collage

**So there we have it, our first year in the books. We all survived! I’m not sure how I will continue with the updates. Maybe every 3 months? Who knows?! Keep an eye out for the rest of our 1st Birthday photo session and our party pictures!**

Baby Nugget – 11 Months

It is SO crazy that you are already 11 MONTHS OLD! Time needs to slow down!

Its been a busy month! You’ve learned all sorts of new things! You can wave Bye-Bye, point to something if we ask you to, and clap your hands!

This month you celebrated your first Thanksgiving! You loved all the food you got to eat, especially munching off of mommy’s dessert on her plate! We had a wonderful with family, you got to play with your cousin (who is 18 months old) and I’m pretty sure she taught you how to throw a fit because you’ve been doing that lately lol!

We made salt dough turkey hands with Baby B this month:

And the only downfall to Thanksgiving was you busted your chin on Aunt S’s coffee table that evening before we went home. You are a tough boy though, and it didn’t slow you down for long.

We went over to mommy’s friend’s house last week and she snapped a few photos of you for our Christmas card. They turned out GREAT! You’re such a photogenic little guy!

What are your stats and what does the doctor say?

We went back to the doctor the week of Thanksgiving for your Flu Shot booster, but you didn’t see Dr. Chris. You were such a big boy for your shot though, you only cried for a second, and I think it was just because you were mad lol. I’m guessing you are between 22-23lbs.

What are you eating?

EVERYTHING! Seriously, anything I put in front of you. You would much rather feed yourself these days, so its getting harder to feed you baby food. You’re still drinking Enfamil Infant, you get 4 bottles a day.

When do you eat and sleep?

You get a bottle every 4 hours throughout the day. You get oatmeal and toast¬†for breakfast at around 7:30. Baby food for lunch and baby food and table food for dinner. You get two naps during the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Bedtime is around 8pm. You’re getting better at sleeping in your crib all night again, although it is a work in progress.

What do your routines look like?

Eat, play, sleep! No change here, you’re on a pretty good schedule these days.

What size clothes and diapers are you wearing?

Size 3 diapers and size 12 months in most clothing.

What are some things you love?

You love to GO! You don’t stay still for long these days! You love CLIMBING on everything, you are a little monkey! You love walking behind your push walker that you got from the baby G girls. You have a new bedtime Monkey who’s belly glows and plays lullabies, and you love to snuggle him at nighttime (he is helping you get used to sleeping in your crib!). We have a big cardboard box that your Christmas present was shipped in and daddy cut some holes in it for you to crawl through and you absolutely love it!

What are some things you don’t love?

You still don’t like waiting for food. You don’t like being told No. You don’t like being left alone in a room, even for a second. And you don’t like waking up in the middle of the night and not be able to find mommy.

What are some things you can do?

Oh my gosh, you crawl, you climb, you clap, you wave bye bye, you point, you give kisses, you dance!¬†Still waiting for you to walk unassisted, but I don’t think it will be long!

What are we looking forward to in the next month?

Your first Christmas! Going to see Santa and looking a Christmas lights. And of course, your first birthday party! I can’t believe you will be ONE the next time I update!

Baby Nugget – 10 Months

Time sure flies! As usual, I’m late with this update. But that doesn’t change that you were 10 MONTHS OLD on November 2nd my sweet little boy!

It seems like as the year goes on we just keep getting busier and busier!

This past month you had your 9 month checkup and got your first flu shot.

Reading up on the flu shot!

Reading up on the flu shot!

We had our annual¬†Family Fall Fiesta dinner at Aunt S’s house.

You celebrated your first Halloween dressed as Charlie Brown, and we rolled right into November where it seems like we have an endless amount of things happening!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

You finally mastered crawling up off your belly and boy do you fly! You’re also pulling up and cruising on EVERYTHING and would much rather walk (assisted) than do anything else. And you got FOUR new teeth in this month! That makes six total, four on top and two on bottom! Mommy is so proud of you and is amazed everyday by how much you grow and learn!

What are your stats and what does the doctor say?

Healthy healthy boy! At your 9 month well visit you weighed 21lbs 8oz and were 28.75in tall. 70th percentile for weight and 50th for height. Dr. Chris was impressed with how strong you are and said your right on track with your milestones, and were even hitting 10 month milestones early!

What are you eating?

Anything we put in front of you! Your favorite baby food is the Stage 3 Chicken Noodle though, you love that stuff! You love to eat off momma’s plate and are more interested in table food than baby food now. You really love to feed yourself, which is quite messy but adorable! You love to snack on Puffs and arrow root cookies. You’re still eating Enfamil Infant throughout the day, and you would rather drink water than juice anytime from your sippy.

When do you eat and sleep?

You get a bottle every 4 hours throughout the day. You get oatmeal for breakfast at around 7:30. Baby food for lunch and baby food and table food for dinner. You get two naps during the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Bedtime is around 8pm. You sleep until about midnight, then you wake up and here lately have been having a lot of separation anxiety going on. You clench onto mommy and won’t let go, so for now you’re back to sleeping with mommy for the 2nd half of the night.

What do your routines look like?

Eat, Play, Sleep! No change here! After breakfast we play until naptime, then you’re up for lunch and a bottle, then its playtime until naptime, then another bottle, play, dinner, then its bath time, story time, and bedtime!

What size clothes and diapers are you wearing?

Size 3 diapers still and size 9 month to 12 month clothes.

What are some things you love?

You love to GO GO GO! Always exploring and getting into things! You love books and story time with daddy before bed. You absolutely LOVE Sesame Street! It is your favorite thing on the TV and always grabs your attention!

What are some things you don’t love?

You don’t like for mommy to be out of your sight, and you don’t like waking in the middle of the night and not being able to find her. Separation Anxiety has hit hard! You don’t like to be told no at all!

What are some things you can do?

What can’t you do?! You can crawl,¬†you can play chase with daddy, you can crawl up and down stairs,¬†you light up and dance anytime you hear music, you can CLIMB on things you have no business climbing on! LOL

What are we looking forward to in the next month?

Your first Thanksgiving! And decorating for Christmas! Mommy and Daddy are excited to go shopping for you! And of course planning your 1st birthday party, which is coming up VERY soon!

Good Grief!

M had his 9 month pictures this week, and I just HAVE to share this now! I haven’t seen them all yet, my photographer only posts 1 shot right away to hold you over until she’s finished editing them all. But this is the shot she chose to share and I just can’t get over the COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS CUTENESS! So I had to share!

Baby Nugget – 9 Months

Better late than never! Kid, you are 9 MONTHS OLD! How are you growing so fast?!

It’s been a pretty busy month! And you have been a busy boy growing and learning all sorts of new things!

You started crawling shortly after turning 8 months old, although Mommy calls it your “army crawl” because you don’t actually get up on your hands and knees. I’ve seen you take a few strides on your hands and knees, but for the most part you are content scooting along on your belly, and you can get around FAST!

You’ve been constantly pulling up on anything you can find and you started cruising really well just a week or so ago. Now its ALL you want to do! We have to keep a close eye these days because sometimes you try to pull up on something you shouldn’t (like a TV tray) and you wipe out. You’ve had a couple of bumps and bruises already.

You had a play date with Baby B this last month, you went to Baby G’s birthday party, and you went to the State Fair with mommy and daddy! You loved seeing the animals in the petting zoo, but other than that you were pretty unimpressed and really tuckered out by the time we left!

What are your stats and what does the doctor say?

We go to the doc in a week and a half, but I’m guessing you are about 22lbs and maybe 29ish inches.

What are you eating?

Anything we’ll let you put in your mouth! You’re still on Enfamil Infant formula and you have every flavor of baby food under the sun! You love food! Gerber Puffs are a big hit with you as well! You got to have spaghetti for the first time this month, and you had a pretty good time! I’m not sure much made it in your mouth, but you had fun anyway.

We went to eat at Cracker Barrel with your Nana this month, too, and you had mashed potatoes, green beans, and some mushed up carrots. You loved it and were a very good boy in the restaurant! Everyone stopped at our table to talk to you, and I’m pretty sure one old lady was going to take you home if I turned my back long enough!

When do you eat and sleep?

You have a bottle every 4 hours during the day. You get oatmeal when you wake up in the morning (usually between 6:30-7:30) and baby food at lunchtime and sometimes dinner time. Sometimes you get a little off our plates at dinner. You have puffs for a snack through out the day. You have two naps throughtout the day, go to bed at around 8:00, and usually get up between 1:30 and 3:30 for a small bottle (not sure how to kick this middle of the night bottle yet). The last couple nights you’ve gotten up several times but I think it’s because you are cutting your top two teeth right now!

What do you routines look like?

Pretty much the same! Eat, Play, Sleep! You wake up at 6:30-7:30, have breakfast and a bottle, then we play play play! You nap usually around 9:30-10, usually for an hour to two hours. When you wake up it’s lunch time, then you play play play some more. Then you go down for your afternoon nap around 2ish, sleep for an hour to two hours. When you wake it’s time for a bottle, play play play until dinner time, then play more. At 7:30 you get a bath, then daddy reads you a bedtime story, then you get your bedtime bottle and mommy puts you bed for night around 8:00pm.

What size clothes and diapers are you wearing?

9 month clothes. Some 6-9 stuff still fits, and you even have a 3-6 shirt that fits well. Usually you can wear smaller tshirts. 12 month stuff is a little big, but not unwearable, especially pants! You are still in size 3 diapers.

What are some things you love?

You love to stand up and cruise on the furniture! You love getting into whatever you can get your hands on now that you are mobile. You LOVE music and you dance whenever it comes on! It is the cutest thing!!! I have no idea where you learned it, you just started grooving one day when daddy played a song on his phone and since then you dance and giggle to any song you hear!

What are some things you don’t love?

You don’t like not getting your way…especially now that mommy has to pull you away from things, like the bookshelf so you don’t pull it over on top of yourself. You don’t like for mommy to leave the room. You don’t like strange people to hold you, especially when mommy is right there. You have a little bit of “Stranger Danger” going on and it’s take a while to warm up to new people.

What are some things you can do?

You can pull up and cruise, you can crawl, you can dance to music. You can give the sweetest baby kisses now! Mommy love it when you’re feeling extra sweet and giving away kisses!

What are we looking forward to in the next month?

Your first Halloween, your 9 month checkup, going to the Pumpkin Patch, our annual Fall Fiesta (a family dinner where we have Mexican food…we do it in October to fill in the gap between Labor Day dinner and Thanksgiving Dinner…my family likes to have big dinners!). It’s going to be very busy these next few months…and mommy has a birthday party to start planning! Eeeek!

Baby Nugget – 8 Months

I cannot believe you are already 8 MONTHS OLD! Where has the time gone??!

As you can see, our photo shoot didn’t go so well because you are getting VERY mobile these days! Not crawling yet, but lunging and scooting and pulling yourself up on EVERYTHING! You are constantly trying to crawl out of your crib and would not sit down next to Sulley for anything lol! (crib mattress is getting moved DOWN tonight!)

This month you’ve had fun playing outside with Jenny during our pretty mild (for around here) summer. You’ve had a playdate with your friend, Baby J, you enjoyed Labor Day weekend with your family, and you got a brand new big boy carseat!

You had just woken up in this pic so that’s why you look so mad, but you usually LOVE riding in the car ūüôā

You also had you first big boo-boo this month! You toppled over while you were playing and hit your eye on a toy! ūüė¶ Mommy was so sad and you got extra love and cuddles that day!

What are your stats and what does the doctor say?

We haven’t been to the doctor and aren’t due to go until October, but I’m betting you’re around 21ishlbs and 28-29inches long… just a mommy guess, though ūüôā

What are you eating?

Still Enfamil Infant. Around 30oz a day. You get baby food 2-3 times a day and you get to try bites of mommy and daddy’s food sometimes too. You finally came around to the Little Munchers (we call them baby Cheetos) and you tried some scrambled eggs but were not crazy about them at all!

When do you eat and sleep?

You get a bottle every 4 hours during the day. For breakfast you get cereal or blended fruits and oatmeal baby food. For lunch you get baby food. For dinner you sometimes get baby food and sometimes a little off mommy’s plate, just depends on how the night is going for us.

Now let’s talk about sleep….

Kid, I am SO PROUD OF YOU! For the past 5 nights you have slept in your crib in your room all night long! Now, mommy occasionally has to come in and comfort you a little, but you are so good at rolling over and putting yourself back to sleep now. Sleep Training was a success and I am so happy we went through with it. The only problem is now that you’re getting 12+ hours of sleep at night, you don’t want to nap during the day! Gotta figure that out, but one thing at a time!

What do your routines look like?

Eat, play, and SOMETIMES sleep during the day (working on naptime now that bedtime is better). We started a new bedtime routine that we are sticking with religiously. At 7:30 you get a bath. At 7:40 out of the bath and you get nighttime lotion and jammies on. Daddy reads you a bedtime story in your room, then mommy gives you your bedtime bottle at 8:00. By 8:15 you’re in your crib for the night. You stay there all night, and for now get up for a bottle between 3-5am. Then you usually sleep until 8 or longer. Then you get up, have breakfast, and we start the day again!

What size clothes and diapers are you wearing?

6-9 month and 9 month clothes. You are still wearing size 3 diapers but we switched to Huggies Little Movers because you kept having crazy blowouts in the Luvs. I miss the price tag on the Luvs, but we haven’t had any more messes with the Huggies and I actually like them a lot better…they seem much softer and more comfy on your little tushy.

What are some things you love?

You still love to eat! You love to be outside and you think our dog Jenny is the greatest thing! You love love love to stand up!

What are some things you don’t like?

You don’t like the vacuum cleaner or mommy’s hair dryer. For some reason now they scare the bejeebus out of you! You don’t like to be left alone for even a minute.

What are some thing you can do?

You can pull yourself up and that’s all you want to do now! Still not crawling and really showing no interest, but you can scoot and roll to get places. You can say “Mmmm” after a bite and still only say Dada. You can blow a raspberry back when someone blows one to you.

What are we looking forward to in the next month?

Before you turn 9 months old, hopefully you will work on crawling! We will go shopping for clothes for your 9 month pics coming up, and we will do family pictures at that time too! Still no teeth so hopefully it will come through, too! And we will work on naptime once bedtime is completely stable.
